Embroidery cost: what sets the price of an embroidered logo

Want your team's or your club's logo embroidered? Here is what sets the price of embroidery, what it adds to the garment and our prices, from the t-shirt to the cap.

Logo embroidery on a hoodie: close-up of the TKNP logo embroidered in off-white thread on a black hoodie, dense glossy satin stitches, in front of the thread cones of an embroidery workshop.

Embroidery cost: what sets the price of an embroidered logo

On four tknp.io product pages of 26 October 2026 (t-shirt, hoodie, polo, cap), an 8 × 10 cm embroidery adds €4.93 excluding VAT to the blank garment at 10 units, €3.25 at 100, for guidance only (standard lead time, base colour, shipping extra). The garment does the rest.

What sets the price of embroidery, in short:

  • The garment: on our four product pages, the embroidery adds the same amount to each garment, at equal quantity; an embroidered hoodie therefore costs more there than an embroidered cap because the blank hoodie costs more.
  • The quantity: on these pages, the embroidered price drops at every tier of the grid, up to 1,000 units, and the embroidery's share shrinks faster than the garment's.
  • The size of the logo: with us, embroidery is paid by its format, from 8 × 10 cm to 25 × 20 cm, whatever the number of thread colours.
  • The options: a pricier colour, a large size, production in one week or a second position are added to the grid price.

You want the team logo embroidered on polo shirts, the club crest on sweatshirts or the event name on caps? On tknp.io, the price of custom embroidery shows on the garment's product page, decoration included, tier by tier. This guide starts from our prices of the day and shows what pushes the cost of an embroidered logo up or down, for a club's merch as much as for a team's outfit.

How much does embroidery cost on a t-shirt, a hoodie, a polo shirt or a cap?

Unless a sentence says otherwise, each price here covers a single batch, meaning one model, one embroidered logo and one position, at tknp.io's public price, without the discount of a verified account.

On tknp.io, for 10 units embroidered at 8 × 10 cm, expect €10.39 excluding VAT for the B&C #E220 t-shirt, €38.60 excluding VAT for the Cruiser 2.0 (a Stanley/Stella hoodie), €22.04 excluding VAT for the Prepster 2.0, a polo shirt from the same brand, and €9.64 excluding VAT for the Beechfield Low Profile Vintage Cap, garment included. Recorded on 26 October 2026, these public prices remain for guidance only: they apply to the base shade and a standard size, with the standard lead time, before delivery costs. All four models top our pages of embroidered t-shirts, sweatshirts, polo shirts and caps, with the best-seller label.

Prices excluding VAT for one unit, garment and 8 × 10 cm embroidery on one position included, recorded in the "Embroidery 8 × 10 cm" row specific to each of the four product pages, on 26 October 2026. Given for guidance only, these prices assume the standard lead time, the cheapest colour on each page and an ordinary size, delivery charged on top. Fabric weights on the product pages: 350 g/m² for the Cruiser 2.0 hoodie, 240 g/m² for the polo shirt (Prepster 2.0), 220 g/m² for the #E220 t-shirt.

Choosing the polo shirt itself, its knit and its fit, is covered in our guide to the company polo shirt.

How much does embroidery add to the price of the garment?

On the tknp.io product pages of the #E220 t-shirt, the Cruiser 2.0, the Prepster 2.0 and the Low Profile Vintage Cap, the 8 × 10 cm embroidery adds the same amount to the blank garment, for each of the four: €4.93 excluding VAT per unit at 10, €4.43 at 25, €4.32 at 50 and €3.25 at 100. Each amount is a gap calculated between two rows of the same product page, at the same quantity: the embroidered price minus the blank price, two public prices shown on 26 October 2026, for guidance only, measured at the standard lead time on the base colour and a standard size, delivery not included.

So it is the garment that makes the difference between two embroidered items. At 10 units, the embroidered Cruiser 2.0 costs €28.21 excluding VAT more than the embroidered #E220: to the cent, the gap between the two blank garments, €33.67 against €5.46.

The share of the embroidery in the price varies just as much. At 10 units, it makes up 51% of the price of the embroidered cap (€4.93 out of €9.64), 47% of the t-shirt, 22% of the polo shirt and 13% of the hoodie (€4.93 out of €38.60). On an inexpensive garment, like this t-shirt or this cap, embroidery therefore accounts for almost half of the price; on this hoodie, for about an eighth.

Does the price of embroidery drop with quantity?

Yes, at every tier. On our product pages for the Low Profile Vintage Cap, the Prepster 2.0 polo shirt, the Cruiser 2.0 and the #E220, what the embroidery adds to the blank garment goes from €4.93 excluding VAT per unit at 10 to €3.25 excluding VAT at 100, 34% less, and down to €2.14 excluding VAT at 1,000 units.

The full price drops more slowly, because the blank garment itself only loses 9 to 11% between 10 and 100 units on these pages. From 10 to 100, the embroidered #E220 goes from €10.39 to €8.20 excluding VAT (21% less), the cap from €9.64 to €7.52 (22%), the polo shirt from €22.04 to €18.53 (16%) and the hoodie from €38.60 to €33.36 (14%). Figures drawn from our public prices on 26 October 2026, for guidance only, on the base shade and usual sizes, standard lead time, without delivery.

The embroidered batch starts at 10 units per reference; what counts towards this minimum is set out in our guide on custom company clothing.

Does the size of the logo change the price of embroidery?

Yes: on tknp.io, embroidery is priced by logo size, from 8 × 10 cm to 25 × 20 cm, as our embroidered clothing pages state. The embroidered price on the product pages matches the smallest of these formats, 8 × 10 cm. A logo larger than 8 × 10 cm, such as lettering across the chest or on the upper back, is priced on request or from our embroidery page; in the designer, the placed logo shows with its result and its price.

To set the size, our pages give benchmarks: 60 to 80 mm wide on the chest or on a sleeve, up to 25 × 20 cm on the back of a sweatshirt or a jacket.

The number of colours in the logo, on the other hand, does not change the price of embroidery with us: every thread colour is included, and our page on embroidered hoodies sums it up in one line, "twelve threads cost the same as one".

Stitch count, programme, technical fees: what do you actually pay for?

On tknp.io, the price of embroidery "follows the embroidered area (the stitch count)", our embroidered hoodies page explains: you pick a format, without counting the stitches of your logo yourself. The programme is part of the process, since the logo is "digitised into a stitch programme", each path becoming a stitch route, and our product pages point out that every batch needs this setup.

Technical fees are waived for verified organisations, on a company number or an EU VAT number, according to our FAQ; with an account that is not verified, ask for the amount before ordering.

Elsewhere, some workshops charge separate technical or programme fees for the logo, and price the embroidery by its stitch count and the quantity: this way of counting, and what it changes for a team order, is described in the guide we devote to embroidery on clothing.

Embroidery, DTF, screen printing: how much does each technique add to the blank garment?

On the tknp.io product pages read for this guide, each technique adds to the blank garment an amount identical to the cent from one page to another: this holds for the 8 × 10 cm embroidery on the product pages of the #E220 t-shirt, the Cruiser 2.0, the Prepster 2.0 and the Low Profile Vintage Cap, and for the A6 DTF transfer and one-colour screen printing on the first three, the cap offering only embroidery online.

25+ €4.43+ €3.00+ €5.36
50+ €4.32+ €2.32+ €2.32
100+ €3.25+ €1.88+ €1.29

Gaps excluding VAT per unit between each technique's row and the "Blank" row of the same product page, at the same tier, calculated from our public prices of 26 October 2026, valid for guidance only for one logo placement, the standard lead time, the base shade and a usual size, shipping excluded.

At 10 units, embroidery and DTF transfer add almost the same amount (€4.93 and €4.92 excluding VAT), one-colour screen printing €13.40; at 100, embroidery adds €3.25, DTF transfer €1.88 and screen printing €1.29. Each technique has its own format on the product page, and these gaps do not tell you which one to choose: the finish, the lifespan and the design of the logo count too, and our embroidery or printing page compares them. The final price of an embroidered or printed t-shirt, tier by tier, is compared in our article on the embroidered t-shirt for associations.

Colour, large sizes, lead time, second logo: what gets added to the price of an embroidered garment

On tknp.io, the embroidered prices in a grid are meant for a single position, at the standard two-week lead time, in the most affordable colour and a standard size. Four choices move them:

  • Colour and size: according to our product pages, a few colours and the largest sizes are a little dearer at the brand, and the extra appears the moment you tick them.
  • Production lead time: on the product pages of the four garments in this guide, one week adds 10% to the base price and four weeks take off 5%; our guide to production lead times helps you set the date.
  • A second position: one more logo, on the back or on a sleeve, is one more embroidery, priced separately, as our guide to logo placement explains.
  • Shipping and VAT: our prices exclude VAT, and our terms of sale state that delivery and taxes are added, shown before the order is confirmed.

Raised embroidery is a variant with its own price on our embroidery page; our entry on 3D embroidery explains what it changes to the logo.

Reading what embroidery adds on a tknp.io product page

On the product pages in this guide, the table of indicative prices lines up the "Embroidery 8 × 10 cm" row and the "Blank" row at the same quantities. Read both at the same tier and subtract the second from the first: you see what the embroidery adds to your garment, as in the gaps of this guide. To know which tier your order falls into, follow our article on the volume pricing of a t-shirt.

Does an embroidered cap cost more in some colours?

Yes, for some colours: the product page of the Beechfield Low Profile Vintage Cap shows, for example, an extra €1.75 per unit, for 50 units, in the Vintage Jungle Camo colour (a note read on the tknp.io page on 26 October 2026, given for guidance only, excluding delivery costs, at the standard lead time). Its grid prices apply to the most accessible colour; the extra for another colour appears as soon as you choose it.

Can you have a single garment embroidered to try it?

On tknp.io, embroidery is ordered from 10 units of the same reference. A blank garment, on the other hand, can be bought from a single unit on the product pages that offer adding it to the basket blank, such as the B&C #E220 t-shirt (€5.46 excluding VAT) or the Beechfield Low Profile Vintage Cap (€4.71 excluding VAT): enough to check the fit, the fabric and the colour before the batch, while the look of the embroidered logo is checked in the designer. These single-unit blank prices appear on the product pages as of 26 October 2026 (for guidance only), with the base colour, a standard size and the standard lead time, without delivery.
