The chest is no longer one surface but two halves. A centred logo is therefore cut in two and never lines up perfectly once the zip is closed. Marking goes on one side — left chest is the established spot — or moves entirely to the back.

The zip-up replaces the kangaroo pouch with two vertical pockets in the side seams. The consequence is welcome: the lower chest stays clear and the garment hangs straight, without the pouch bulge of a closed model.

Left-chest embroidery is the natural mark for a zip-up: it sits on a clear surface, away from the fastener, and stays legible whether the garment is open or closed. For an organisation name readable from a distance, move to the back, where the surface is whole. Bear in mind the embroidery machine must clear the zip's thickness: a logo too close to the edge cannot be hooped.
