Which marking technique for custom beanies?

On a beanie, embroidery on the turn-up is the standard: thread follows the rib and the double thickness prevents distortion. A patch, stitched or heat-set on that same cuff, carries artwork too fine for stitch. Transfer, by contrast, cracks on a knit that stretches — it has no place here.

Choosing your custom beanies

/ 01

Knit and rib

A beanie is knitted in rib: the fabric stretches both ways. A fine rib holds a mark better than a chunky knit, where the stitch disappears between the ridges. A fleece lining adds comfort and, incidentally, a stable ground under embroidery.

/ 02

The turn-up

The turn-up doubles the thickness: it is the only truly stable area of a beanie, and therefore the natural home for a logo. A short-worn beanie with no cuff offers a narrow surface only — keep the mark small and set it high so it does not vanish into the folds.

/ 03

Scarves, neck warmers and gloves

A scarf takes a motif woven into the knit itself: the design is part of the fabric, so it neither wears off nor peels, unlike an applied label. On a glove the flat surface is tiny and the lining rules out through-embroidery: a woven label stitched at the cuff stays the clean answer.

Which marking technique should I choose?
On a beanie, embroidery on the turn-up is the standard: thread follows the rib and the double thickness prevents distortion. A patch, stitched or heat-set on that same cuff, carries artwork too fine for stitch. Transfer, by contrast, cracks on a knit that stretches — it has no place here.
