Custom towels and linen.

Custom linen — towels, bathrobes, tea towels — is the textile of hospitality, spas and gyms. It is not worn but used, washed constantly, and how it stands up to the laundry cycle decides everything.

Which marking technique for custom towels and linen?

On towelling, embroidery placed on the border band is the reference: thread anchors on a flat base and hot washing never reaches it. On full pile, a water-soluble film laid over the loops stops the stitch from sinking, but keep the artwork simple and free of fine detail. Tea towels and waffle take printing like any other woven cloth.

Choosing your custom towels and linen

/ 01

Towelling weight

Towelling is read in gsm like jersey, but on a different scale. Around 400 gsm a towel is light and dries quickly: that is gym linen. Between 450 and 550 gsm sits the hospitality standard. Beyond 600 gsm it turns dense and plush, but it takes a long time to dry.

/ 02

Pile and the border band

Towelling is a relief of loops: nothing prints on it cleanly. That is why most towels carry a border band — a flat woven strip across the linen — designed precisely to receive a mark. Check that it exists and how wide it is before choosing a model: without it, the logo sinks into the pile and disappears.

/ 03

Bathrobes and tea towels

A bathrobe comes in towelling or in waffle, lighter and quicker to dry: two different registers, one for a spa, one for a bedroom. The tea towel, in flat-woven cotton, marks like any canvas — the simplest piece in the family, and often the most given away.
