Choosing your custom fleeces

Pile and weight
A light micro-fleece works year-round and slips under a rain garment. A heavy fleece, around 300 gsm, becomes a jacket in its own right. Pile may be brushed on one face or both: double-sided is warmer, bulkier and harder to layer.

Anti-pilling
An untreated fleece pills within weeks of friction — backpacks, seatbelts, armrests. Anti-pill treatment is the single criterion that decides how the piece looks after a season. Check it before anything else.

The surface is not flat
Fleece pile is several millimetres deep. A stitch laid on it sinks in and fibres rise back over the thread: the logo goes hazy. That is this substrate's own constraint, and it has a standard industrial answer.
Which marking technique for custom fleeces?
Embroidery on fleece calls for a water-soluble topping laid over the fabric before the needle runs: it flattens the pile during stitching, then washes away. Without it, fine text turns illegible. Plan for generous type and a simplified logo — fleece is not the ground for millimetre detail.
