Jackets & outerwear

Custom puffer jackets.

The custom puffer jacket is your team's winter piece: it insulates through air trapped in its fill, not through fabric thickness. It is also the one jacket where marking has to work around a physical constraint — every needle hole pierces a filled chamber.

Choosing your custom puffer jackets

/ 01

Down or synthetic fill

Down gives the best warmth-to-weight ratio and packs down beautifully, but it loses its insulating power once wet and its traceability requires certification. Synthetic fill keeps insulating when damp, machine-washes and costs less: the default choice for team kit that will live outdoors.

/ 02

The quilting

The seams that draw the channels go right through: they hold the fill in place but create cold lines. Wide channels loft more and give the classic silhouette; narrow channels make a sleeker, more urban piece that layers under a coat.

/ 03

The outer face

The shell is a very fine nylon or polyester, usually water-repellent treated. Fine means heat-sensitive: a transfer pressed too hot glazes, dimples or permanently scars the fabric. Low-temperature presses exist for exactly this reason.

Which marking technique for custom puffer jackets?

On a puffer, embroidering straight into a filled panel is best avoided: needle holes let the fill escape and create cold bridges. Two clean routes: embroidery on an unfilled area — collar, yoke, cuff — or a stitched embroidered patch, which keeps every stitch on its own backing. For a colour logo, low-temperature transfer is the method that respects the nylon.
